 ... one of the main characters looks like. The animals featured in the book are very exotic and not your standard fish, cat and hamster. I really liked this idea because a lot of childrens books books feature animals that are very well known so it was nice for Noah and I talk about the characteristics of animals that he may not have come across before. I was drawn to this book because I liked the look of the Polar bear on the front. He looked like a big friendly guy and I was intrigued to see what the story was all about. This book is written by Emma Dodd and was first published in 2006. The books tells the story of Jack and his journey of choosing a pet. He comes up with all sorts of weird and wonderful ideas on which pet he would like but somehow his mother convinces him otherwise without actually saying 'No'. He eventually has a revelation that a dog would be the best thing to purchase and the book ends on a picture of him with his brand new pet.
