Days of Hope is a fictional novel written by Lyn Andrews. I picked this up from my local library, not really knowing what to expect as this is the first book by Lyn Andrews that I have read. The book features Chrissie and Grace, who are sisters as the main characters. They were born and raised in Liverpool and are young women living in Liverpool during the 1940s. The Second World War has just ended and life is not easy - families are living on rations and many other restrictions are in place. For any Lyn Andrews fans out there, this book is great. The books starts the story in 1916, two years into the first world war. Hannah Peckham, the character the book is based on, is six and her Dad is going off to war. I won't give too much of the story line away but she ends up in a workhouse in Wales until she is sixteen and then she moves to Liverpool to work in service for a posh family. The story carries on to see her fall in love with someone she can't have, then marry on the rebound and have a daughter. To say anymore would spoil the plot and ruin a good read. I have found that in some of Lyn Andrews previous books, she goes into great detail about ...
