Advantages: Humourous, heart-warming, unique writing style

Disadvantages: Hard to put down!

I bought this book after reading and thoroughly enjoying Cecelia Ahern's first novel 'PS I Love You'. Since then I have read all her novels so far and love them all but I have to say that this one is my favourite.

I bought this book when it first came out and am not entirely sure how much I paid for it - however I know you can get them on ebay, amazon and various other sites for a reasonable price. I have seen them in supermarkets also and of course you can always pay a visit to your local library!

The first thing to note is that the book is written in a very unique way as the story is told entirely through letters, emails, instant messages, postcards and so on. I loved this style as it made it easy to read, not too much concentration was required especially when I just wanted to read a quick bit before going to sleep! It also made it a bit more personal, in that you really felt as if you were reading someones private thoughts - kind of like reading their diary!

The story follows Rosie and Alex - childhood friends who grow up together and share a special connection. When Alex moves to America, the friendship is tested and over the years fate intervenes in their relationship time and time again. Are they meant to be more than just best friends? Can a man and a woman ever be 'just friends'? These questions and many others are answered as the story unfolds.

I don't want to spoil the book by revealing the entire plot, but it has a lovely ending and you are really made to care for the characters and I felt myself willing them to get together and groaning out loud when things were going wrong.

If you are looking for a light-hearted romantic book - then this is it. There are some parts within the book which are quite sad but these parts are balanced out with a lot of humour and wit. I especially loved the funny little titles that Alex and Rosie put on their emails to each other - it really made me smile. And also the names that they have for each others partners (Slutty Bethany and whatshisname) is funny too - it's typical of their relationship and something I could definately relate to!

I would highly recommend this book as I honestly could not put it down - infact I read it in 2 days and have read it again twice since - that's how much I enjoyed it! I wouldn't recommend this book to males as it is definately a chick-lit book, but you never know, some guys out there may like to give it a try!! It is very heart-warming and made me feel all happy and smiley.

Go on - give it a read - I promise you won't be disappointed!!

Summary: A brilliant story about love told in a humourous and unique way
