Advantages: Cheap

Disadvantages: Very long and boring

I had been introduced to Cecelia Ahern a few months ago when someone bought me a copy of PS I love you, I really enjoyed this and went onto watch the film then looked into her other books and bought A Place Called Here, which I'd also really enjoyed so therefore I had high hopes when I picked this up the other day!

The book is written in the forms of mementoes between friends and one time lovers Rosie and Alex; there is letters, emails, texts, instant messaging - no real narrative it is just relayed in the letters etc, this was alright at first but got a bit annoying towards the middle of the book. A good point to it though was that it showed you whereabouts in time you were since the book spanned a couple of decades. They had always been close since they were little as they were each others only real friend, but in the background it seemed like there was something more going on.. however something always seemed to get in the way, will they ever get together?

I was really not at all impressed with this book, I would say that it doesn't meet up to the standard of her previous books. I'm not sure why but it just annoyed me and I wasn't at all interested in it, I ended up giving up at about 250 pages - yet there was about 400 to go! The plot just didn't seem realistic, there was so many different things that got in their way and this was only at the 250 page mark, I didn't really see how this could actually happen. The only good point is that I bought it when it was on offer for £1.99 on amazon.

Summary: Read a different Cecelia Ahern book
