Every page is very simply done with just a few words written in bold, such as 'Is he behind the door?'. Spots mom is looking for spot everywhere but cant find him, he is hiding in the house somewhere, in this book you can join spots mom on her search for spot. This is a lift the flap book made from thin card so it wont spoil easily. One of the flaps i a door, mom thinks spot might be hiding in there but he isnt when you open the door there is a bear helping himself to a jar of honey. Is spot in the piano, no when you lift the flap on the piano there is a hippo inside. There are a few more lift up flaps to go before you will find spot. This book has lovely pictures and large simple writing which is great for teaching a young child to read, ...  Read the complete review

This was the very first book I got for my (then) unborn baby towards the end of my pregnancy when I had all of the practical things and was looking for little nice extras. I came across it in a garden centre of all places, in a section of children's books and was amazed that the Spot books I had loved as a child were still being printed! I was with my parents and my mum insisted that she was sure she actually still had my copy of the book, whereas my dad was keen to buy his grandson's first boom so he wanted to buy it anyway. It cost £4.99 which is the printed RRP on the book so you may be able to pick it up for less in other shops. However I visit lots of bookshops as ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Where's Spot? - Eric Hill: Spot's dinner's going cold......... (365 words)

Where's Spot is one of the books written by Eric Hill and featuring the character that he created back in 1980: Spot the puppy. This particular book was a favourite of mine when I was younger, as it features Spot as well some of his friends. Hill's creation has been a favourite for children and adults alike as it provides entertainment and interaction at the same time as being educational as well. This story sees Spot's mum, Sally, looking for him because his dinner is ready, so she goes around the house looking for him. She checks all the likely places, but finds his friends there instead, until finally she finds him in the basket, and tells him his dinner's ...  Read the complete review

Where is Spot? - By Eric Hill I absolutely adored Spot books when I was younger and couldn't wait to pick up some for Jack as it seems he is becoming a right little book worm! Luckily a colleague of mine who has a couple of older children was passing on some books to me and in amongst the piles she gave was a couple of Spot books. Of course I couldn't wait to read them myself let alone get home and share the experience with Jack. The book itself is a board book so the pages are nice and thick and easy for small fingers to turn the pages over to the next one. This book is a lift the flap book so not only is it great fun but it makes ...  Read the complete review

Spot is a lovable puppy who hasn't failed to enchant any of the children who I have read the series of Spot books to. ~ The author, Eric Hill & Spot Books ~ Where's Spot? was written / published in 1980 and is the first in the massively successful series of Spot books. Following the huge success of this book, Eric Hill has gone on to write a huge number of books for very young children, recounting the adventures of this sweet little pup: Spot's first walk Spot goes to the farm Spot's noisy toy box Spot goes to the circus Spot's busy week Spot's touch and feel day Spot visits his ...  Read the complete review
