The North West of England contains some beautiful areas such as the Cheshire plains, the Trough of Bowland, and the Lake District. The landscape ranges from rich lowland farmland, rocky and sandy coastlines, to the highest mountains in England. The area also contains, of course, some of the most densely populated areas in Britain.
