My daughter has reached the age where she is very curious about where babies come from, and has a lot of questions. I've always had a policy that if she asks me a question I'll try to answer in the best way I can - but when it comes to sex education,I'll admit I struggled a little - I didn't know how much was too much information, and while I didn't want to shelter her and have her not knowing about it, I didn't want to scare her with too much detail either . At work we have a very useful section down in the Children's Library called The Parents Collection. On these shelves we stock a variety of fiction and non-fiction books and videos that are designed to help parents answer questions and learn about parenting skills. There are also items that deal with issues that may arise with your children ~ for example, first day at school, bullying, meals for babies, baby names and sex education. Many of these books take a light hearted approach to teaching your child the facts of life and are written in a story format, rather than bombarding your child with facts.
