'The White Raven" is glorious piece of celtic fantasy exploring what it must actualy be like to live out one of the mythical love affairs. Tristan and Iseult (Immortalised by Wagner amongst others) are tragic, star crossed lovers from about the sixth century, and although their tale is often told, it is seldom told so well. Paxson has really done her research, and incorporates many figures of the time (Saint Columba for example) as well as a celtically inspired otherworld of fair folk and mystery. The tale.
