Don't children ask a lot of questions? Ever since my daughter discovered the word 'why?' she doesn't seem to have stopped using it! I suppose it's because when you are three everything seems to be a mystery and there are more questions than answers! As a parent, there are times when this never ending curiosity is magical and at other times very frustrating! 'Why do Stars Come out at Night?', written by Annalena McAfee, is an enchanting picture book that is based on the premise that children ask lots of questions that adults find difficult to answer. All been there haven't we? Mum? Why does...? Mum? What is..? This book by Annaleena McAfee doesn't answer any real questions but it is a gentle, almost cute, book asking a question on one page, and revealing a make believe answer on the next. An example - Why do children go to school? Because teachers get lonely without them. A good bedtime read, which may evoke further questioning from your little ones.
