The Story
Wild Designs is one of my favourite Katie Fforde stories, because it deals with a favourite subject of mine – namely the garden, growing flowers, and Chelsea Flower Show!
Althea (what a wonderful name!) is a divorcee, she has three children and a dog called Bozo, as well as a house that costs too much to run, and an ex-husband who kind of gets in the way a lot. Sometimes when it’s raining and cold and I’m feeling a wee bit miserable, I curl up on the sofa with one of her books and a huge mug of hot tea and find myself immersed in real-life worlds that are filled with humour and love and “making the best of a bad situation”! They always make me laugh, and the romantic element is just perfect for an old softie like me!
