 Willy the Champ - Anthony Browne ... good at sports, although he tries; and wherever he goes he gets laughed at. He tries cycling, but is left well behind the others, trundling along happily on what looks like one of those Shopper bikes I had when I was little.
We next see Willy walking to the pool and passing by a lady gorilla in Marilyn Monroe pose (white dress), posing for a big body builder gorilla, and then we next see him being thrown into the pool by some poser types!

Willy the Champ I have always enjoyed Anthony Browne picture books, not only because of the story line but also the illustrations which have lots and lots of detail, and which are often quite humorous. This story is a sequel to Willy the Wimp, and is a great one to read to children who are maybe going through self esteem issues. **Story and Illustrations** We meet Willy (if you didn’t meet him in Willy the Wimp) lying on a brightly decorated sofa with a butterfly from the design of the sofa fabric apparently leaving the sofa and flying on the wall.
