At the beginning of the book she seems an incredibly caring person as well as being studious and a little bit full of herself, her personality hardens up quite a lot during her time in Africa. I can't help but think that her single-mindedness and focus on the Gorillas was indeed her downfall as she quickly made enemies of the locals. Woman in the Mists is the biography of Dian Fossey, written by Farley Mowat. I'm really quite like the look of gorillas and are generally concerned for them and interested in their cause. When it comes to the conservation of them Dian Fossey is the big name. This book follows her life from a student up until her brutal death in her mountain research lodge in Rwanda. A lot of the book is incredibly interesting and the woman was no doubt brave and daring as well as intelligent. The written excerpts of her diaries give a close insight in to her way of thinking and her character and I can't say I liked it that much.
