Like some other children's books that I have previously reviewed, this 'Wonderful Earth' book by Nick Butterworth and Mick Inkpen, is another book that years ago we were recommended as student teachers, particularly for R.E. lessons. However because of some of the other themes in this terrific book, it can be used to explore concepts of light and dark, animals, myself, and even the environment. It wasn't until I was teaching for a few years, that I actually bought this book, after coming across it for £3.99 in Banana Bookshop, although you can usually expect to pay around £9.99 for it.
