'The Writers' and Artists' Yearbook' has been in existence since 1906 (when it was a small 80 page booklet). It has been used as a reference for said Artists and Writers from then on: when a writer and artist has a creation he wishes to show to a wider audience, to get published or printed, then this is the first port of call he or she should make. It does, basically, what it says on the tin... This latest 2009 edition, boasting its traditional red over with the white and yellow writing, is considerably bigger than its first issue. There are 800 or so pages crammed full of information for the writer and artist out there. Kicking off the Yearbook, we have a ... Read the complete review

If you want to write for fun, or for money, then the big problem is how to promote your work and get it read? Even if (for reasons best known to yoruself) you do not want to be paid for writing, you probably want to be read by someone. The writers and artists yearbook will tell you how. Unlike many of the "writers tell you how' books, this one is actually packed with invaluable information. You need this book. I'l start by saying that there's not much in it for artists - it concentrates on illustration and book related artwork. You've written a book. You want to get it read, so you need a list of publishers - There's an ... Read the complete review

If you are serious about writing or producing artwork/photography to earn money then this book, Writers and Artists Yearbok, is a must for your reference shelf. Published by A C Black annually, this is usually in the shops late summer/early autumn and is a mine of useful information. The 2007 copy has RRP of 14.99 but look out for special offers as some bookshops offer reductions. It is a thick book, with a red cover, not to be confused with a similar book with a yellow cover. There are over 800 pages in this year's edition. I don't think it is necessary to buy a new copy every year, if you buy every couple of years it should be enough to keep ... Read the complete review

I do not use the term indispensable lightly. For all budding and established writers and artists this yearbook is a comprehensive guide to the media market. The sections provide comprehensive listings of contact names and addresses as well as ... Read the complete review

The Writers and Artists Yearbook is undoubtedly one of the most important books for any writer. It contains a wealth of invaluable information that has meant has paid for itself many times over. Not only does it contain vast numbers of addresses and contacts but it also contains articles on a number of topics that are particularly useful for writes. In fact whether you are a full time professional writer, or someone who likes writing and having the occasional item published it is an essential work. With over 600 pages of information the book contains fourteen sections in all. The first gives details on newspapers and magazines with address and contacts. There ... Read the complete review
