Advantages: A beautiful story leaving you teary eyed

Disadvantages: You're left feeling angry with Cathy

This story is a famous one, is the beginning of the play by Cliff Richard. Wuthering Heights is one of the finest works ever written. I read this when i was eleven, and i enjoyed very much. I saw it on film when i was six, and immediately loved it. The book is wonderful, anyone who hasn't read it, read it. It is a bit complicated because of the way they used to write but it's not too bad. For those who don't know the story...
A boy without a name living in the slums of Liverpool is taken in by a man with two children. He calls him Heathcliff. The story is a bit of a love triangle: Cathy, Heathcliff and Edgar.

Cathy always wanted the finer things in life and that is something Heathcliff can't provide and someone who can is Edgar Linton. They both fall in love, though Cathy still loves Heathcliff. Cathy tells the nanny it would "degrade" her to marry Heathcliff, and he hears her (what he didn't hear is her say they are both the sme person). So he runs away to make himself a rich man. When he comes back she has married Edgar and is living in a life full of wealth and parties. All of which Heathcliff would have provided had she waited a little longer.

His personality changes completely, he becomes self-involved and arrogant. For revenge he marries Edgars sister, who he mistreats. When they have a child, a son, he treats him badly too. Cathy has a child, a daughter, who Heathcliff kidnaps and forces her to marry his own son. His wife runs away and his son dies. He keeps Cathy's daughter there as a slave.

He makes sure because his life is so bad everyone elses is too, he will not let anyone be happy unless he is happy. Cathy is upset, and hurt. She practically wills herself to die because she can't live the life she is leading. But she tells Heathcliff she will wait for him, because she loves him.

This is one of the best books ever written. An excellent story of love lost and found even in dea
th.

Not bad, but a little confusing, and could use some more information.
