If you want to know the key to instant happiness and relief from depression, please read on...

The author of this life-changing book is Richard Carlson who holds a Ph.D. in psychology. This American writer is a world-renowned, leading thinker in the field of happiness and stress reduction and has written five other books in various similar fields of life. "You Can Feel Good Again" is a suprisingly simple book that details commonsense strategies for releasing unhappiness and changing your life.

I was, I suppose, severely depressed for over two years of my life, although I do not like to admit this, even to myself. A series of terrible events happened in succession and try as I might to get through them, it all became too much and I collapsed mentally. I couldn't stop crying for weeks, I no longer wanted to go out and I totally retracted into myself living the nightmares in my mind. There wasn't even one area of my life that was stable. Family, personal, financial and social, everything had gone wrong and I was living in pure misery.

I went to see a psychotherapist for a while, but it made no difference and only distressed me more that I was shelling out hundreds of pounds for the service. It did no good. I simply became an expert in relating to all of my problems and explaining them in detail. I can honestly say that many people who are suffering from depression go through even more pain as a result of therapy that doesn't work for them.

In a last attempt to help myself, I searched the bookshop website, Amazon.co.uk for self-help books on depression. The result was Carlson's book, which had a five-star rating by other readers and many compliments had been left in the reader's review section from readers on both sides of the Atlantic. The book arrived a week later and has changed my life 100%.

Carlson starts off by introducing himself, his work, and the causes and nature of depression. Seventee
n chapters follow, each clearly explaining his theories and processes in healing. Every question you may have is answered in the text, making it an interesting and comprehensive read. Understandable to all, it has the potential to change your life from misery to happiness if you have an open and accepting mind.

Section by section, Carlson works you through the whole process of realising your recovery in a managable, easy-to-digest format, from understanding your thoughts and the way that you feel, realising wisdom and healthy psychological functioning, learning how to dismiss and sort your thought processes, and achieving happiness and freedom as your goal.

If more people knew what I now know from this incredible book, there would be a lot less guilt and depression in this world. As a preventative measure, it is useful for anyone, even if you are not depressed, to read this and realise where you may fall if you haven't already done so. The tools of the book apply to any type of depression, no matter where it stems from. In reading the first few chapters I immediately began to feel much better. On completion, it was a miracle cure. The processes are so simple and anyone can understand and relate to the text. I am proud to say that I am now completely free from my past depression and am back on top of my life, making things much better for myself that ever before.

Carlson and his books have been highly criticised by many "traditional" therapists who claim that his "shortcut" methods are useless. These therapists believe that you have to "work through" all of your misery in order to achieve happiness again. Thousands of people still go through this method, but how many of them actually improve? The only thing in favour of this "traditional" method, is the fact that it provides a career for therapists and makes them all rich. This is mainly why they do not want any of their clients to read Carlson
9;s books.

Simple, commonsense strategies are the only real true way to understanding yourself and letting go of the pain that has made you miserable for months or even years. Richard Carlson has realised this and formatted it for everyone to understand. The cost of a book for a permanent cure, or the cost of months of therapy with little or no return? You decide...

Did he mention it was Solution Focused Brief Therapy? I have been studying this method, and it sounds like this is based on a similar 'therapy'.
