Great Cartidge - Good Value and Excellent Print Quality! (Canon PG 50)

Advantages: Good print quality (even on cheap printer / paper).

Disadvantages: None for me - but check printer compatibility.

This cartridge is often referred to as being 'High Yield'; this is because it has double the ink compared to the standard pg40 cartridge. It is certainly better value than the pg40, but with my printer this cartidge still produces good prints right up to when it is completely empty, and the last page is left blank in places.
On my printer it doesn't distinguish between the pg40 and pg50 but the pg50 works as well as the supplied pg40. My printer seems to underestimate the capacity of the pg50, showing a low ink warning long before I run out of ink. On several occasions I have bought a new cartidge and not used it for about a month, but have found that neither the quality of the prints nor the lifetime of the cartidge has been affected. Overall I would easily recommend this cartidge over the pg40, but check printer compatibilty first, as some printers are only compatible with the pg40.

Summary: A good value cartidge, highly recommended over smaller pg40.
