Canon Photo Paper Pro Platinum
Advantages: thick and good quality
I have some lovely pictures that I have taken with my camera, they are a bit arty where I have tried out different techniques. We wanted to have them printed poster size so we could display them in some nice frames on the landing. My friend has a printer that can print really good quality A3 prints so all I needed was some large paper to work with.
==Price and availability==
The pro platinum paper comes in A4 or A3 size, the pack of A3 that I bought cost £35.00 and I bought it from Amazon.
The sheets measure 13 inch x 19 inch which is just slightly bigger than the regular A3 paper so that you can have a border if you want. It makes it easier to mount with a little extra to work with.
The paper is really thick and is finished with a metallic gloss coat that makes your pictures come to life.
The paper is really thick so it does not curl, even when saturated with colour. The paper does take a lot of ink and takes a little while to dry. We were using the paper with a high quality ink jet printer, I guess for the best results you should use a more professional printer but despite this the images we produced were crisp with clean cut lines and extremely bright and vivid colours.
Once the ink dries on the paper, the colours are remarkable and the gloss of the paper really gives the picture a professional finish to it. The paper is thick too so this has a really luxurious quality to it that is hard to achieve from other papers. This is one of the first A3 photo papers that I have used and now I am used to this high quality, I'm not so sure that I could use a different one. We have three lovely pictures now of Prague on the landing, one with a little black cat streaking it's way across a cobbled street with the reflection of a tower in a puddle. This is such a great picture and one of my favourites. It is brilliant that I have been able to bring it to life in this way. The depths of the colours and the sheen of the paper are enchanting. If you want to sell professional papers then I can certainly see the advantages of using this paper. It has an expensive feel to it. Yes, the paper is not cheap but it works out a lot cheaper to make your own pictures and the quality speaks for itself.
It may seem costly, but this paper is certainly worth the money once you see your pictures in print. I can fully recommend this paper. The images have remained bright and vivid, despite being on display.
Summary: Stunning picutres, worth the money
