Advantages: Decent Ink, Quality Paper
Disadvantages: ?
The Hewlett Packard 363 Series of inks work in the following printers: HP Photosmart 3110, 3210, 3310, 8250, C5175, C6175, C6180, C6270, C6285, C7180, D6160, D7160, D736 and D7460.
The inks themselves use 'viviera' technology, which means, if used in conjunction with HP's 'Premium Plus paper', they will have a fade resistance of over 100 years - which is quite an impressive claim.
From Staples, the 363 value pack costs around £31. For this price you get 6 HP ink cartridges - Black, Yellow, Cyan, Light Cyan, Magenta, and Light Magenta. You also get 150 sheets of 10 x 15 cm HP Advanced photo paper. This represents fairly good value for money, as the cartridges are quite economical and will last a fair amount of time. The included paper is of a high standard and will be a welcome addition if you're in need of producing photo size prints.
At the time of writing, if you buy two of these, you get a saving of 15% on the second set - I took advantage of this offer, as being a graphic designer I get through a lot of printing ink. You can also hand over your empties to redeem £1 per cartridge from the price of your next set.
The inks are really easy to replace - specially on my printer (the D7160). All you have to do is lift the hinge, push in the cartridge, close the hinge, and you're done. It's a simple and non-messy process.
I would recommend the HP 363 Photo Value Pack to everyone - especially to those who are planning to buy their photo paper separately - by purchasing this pack you'll save a lot of money. In fact, if you add up the individual value of the components, you're looking at a cost of over £55 - so it represents a decent saving. Give it a go if you've got a compatible printer.
Summary: Good Value with paper included

- 11/09/08 Yep, I bought the non-hp one's from Dixon once, and the yellow was all greenish and muddy looking. |

- 11/09/08 I tried the cheaper compatible cartridges once and they ran if the paper got at all wet after printing. Originals are definitely of higher quality. |
