      --Introduction--

I haven't written a review about printer paper before, or any other printer consumable for that matter. However, I felt compelled to write this review and sing the praises of a great product. I think personally, that the quality of an individual print out relies on three different things. The brand and type of the printer used are very important, along with the paper that you use to print on. They are all essential to achieving the best results and in this review I will concentrate on what part HP Premium Choice printer paper affects the cycle.

I first came across this HP printer paper when I was working in my brother’s office. It was a summer job just to earn a bit of extra cash. As I was relatively inexperienced, I was left with the very simple tasks, such as getting jobs sent out, running errands and also ordering-in new goods when they were needed. I could see the quality of the printing that the jobs were printed on and I learned that it was HP paper. I compared the quality against that of the economy paper that was used for scrap and the difference was clear to see. Since then, I have taken a ream every now again and I now have top quality prints at home.

      --Who are HP?--

Hewlett Packard, or HP, is among the world leaders in producing computers, peripherals and printer consumables. They are hugely respected and widely known. I first came across the brand at the age of about 10, when they started to sponsor Tottenham Hotspur. The company was formed in 1939, by a pair of classmates at Stanford University. They were called Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard and their first product was an oscillator. Today, Hewlett Packard employs close to 100,000 people globally and their annual revenue is around $50 billion. They are huge firm and have gone from strength to strength, increasing their product portfolio year on year.

      --Print Quality--

The print quality on this type of paper is second to none. The objects and text are very clear and the lines very sharp. The paper has something put in it, to give it that added shine and whiteness. This helps the print-out to be very clear and also helps in the general presentation. The ink never smudges across the page as the paper seems to hold in and absorb it very quickly, which is good for the slightly glossy paper that it is.

      --Suitability--

This printer paper is ideal for using for use in pretty much any paper. It works fantastically on both inkjet and LaserJet printers, the results are reflected in the quality of the printer. The paper is very good for printing text, in black and white and colour, as well as detailed pictures or diagrams. It is not designed for printing photos, although it doesn't do a bad job.

      --Quantity and Price--

Hewlett Packard Premium Choice printer paper comes in reams of 500 sheets. If you buy the paper by box, there are a total of four reams included. The paper comes in two varieties, 90 or 120 gsm. The 120 gsm is excellent, but the 90 gsm is more than good enough. The list price per ream for the 120 gsm is £14.99, although it can bought from viking-direct.co.uk for £8.99 and if you buy wholesale the price comes down a lot. The 90 gsm is £12.99 per ream but again it can be found cheaper for £7.49.

      --Conclusion--

This printer paper is excellent; you certainly get what you pay for. For some people it may be too expensive for home use, especially if the only printing that you do is for informal documents. However, for those who print of large amounts of important prints, such as letters, CV's or invoices this paper shows that you pay attention to careful and attractive presentation. The quality of the paper, can really press home the quality of any document and it can be very impressive.
