Advantages: easy to use,very cheap
Disadvantages: none
With manufacturer's replacement cartridges costing from £8 - £25 there are 2 ways of reducing your printing costs when the original ones run out. 1, Replacement cartridges made by another supplier are available for most makes. These are of a similar quality to the original and cost about half. 2, The other way is to refill your old cartridges with ink. The kits comprise of syringes, ink and full instructions for most makes. I've been using the JR Inkjet refil kits and have been very pleased with the results. They are easy to use, very economical and clean - no inky fingers... These cost around £5 for the black (2 bottles) and £7.50 for the colour ( 3 bottles of the primary colours). Depending on the printer you can get from 2-7 refills per kit so the savings are well worth the effort. They also stock larger bottles of ink for heavy users as well as a full range of flushing kits to keep the cartridges in good working order.

- 26/08/00 Yeah, I use them but beware of cross contamination. For a while my printer was printing pink instead of blue. Although it wasn't too much of a problem fixing it - just put it through the head cleaning cycle.
I'll still continue to use refills, but this time I'll be much more careful. Maybe cover the other holes with cellotape.. |
