AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ / 3 GHz ... Vs Intel.... Its always a debate. I think most technical experts would say that an Intel processor always outperforms that of an AMD processor with the same specification all be it by a slight margain. However the benefit of a AMD processor is they are much cheaper to purchase and sometimes that slight margain of performance difference can be overlooked, especially when your on a tight budget. The AMD Athlon 64 6000+ is a processor you won t go far wrong with. I purchased one of these in a computer build. I was amazed at the ease at how this processor performs.... AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ / 3 GHz ... on the web first, and decided on this particular processor based on comparing prices and performance with what I need, rather than what I might want, and it does all I need. In fact, by writing this review, I am simply adding to the many great reviews out there about this processor, I am yet to read a bad review. Essentially the Athlon 64 X2 6000+ is simply two cores (processors) at 3GHz with 1MB of L2 cache per core. This is pretty awsome when you consider that the machine I am writing this review on is one processor at 1.8 ghz,very old and plenty fast enough (my work machine). AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ / 2.2 GHz ... bought 4 of these Processors off Ebuyer a few weeks back, I got them at £49.48 each which I would say is a complete bargain. The Processor its self is Socket AM2 which means it has 940 Pins on it. It is also Dual Core so it should be able to handle Windows Vista and many other high demanding applications. The Processor came in a Small Box Made of cardboard like usual the boxes and it contained 1 Processor, License For Warranty with instructions and 1 Heat sink and Fan with thermal paste pad already on the heat sink all you have to do is remove the plastic and install the heat sink as usual.
