Having used this processor for two months for very intensive programs such as video studio 11 and newer games including medal of honour airborne, i can safely say it has stood up well to the challenge. I purchased this processor to build a whole new rig for video editing as our old dell was not up to the challenge. What a difference this thing made even running vista with a terrible graphics card ( the new 8500gt i ordered didnt arrive so i had to install a 2mb pci card i had hanging around) and i was still running vista and video studio 11 with ease. It runs fine and relatively quietly with the stock fan although you may need to upgrade cooling for ... Read the complete review

I bought this processor, new motherboard, new video card and windows vista home premium to upgrade my old PC which my son now uses for gaming. I may review the motherboard etc. later. I researched this processor on the web first, and decided on this particular processor based on comparing prices and performance with what I need, rather than what I might want, and it does all I need. In fact, by writing this review, I am simply adding to the many great reviews out there about this processor, I am yet to read a bad review. Essentially the Athlon 64 X2 6000+ is simply two cores (processors) at 3GHz with 1MB of L2 cache per core. This is pretty awsome ... Read the complete review

AMD Vs Intel.... Its always a debate. I think most technical experts would say that an Intel processor always outperforms that of an AMD processor with the same specification all be it by a slight margain. However the benefit of a AMD processor is they are much cheaper to purchase and sometimes that slight margain of performance difference can be overlooked, especially when your on a tight budget. The AMD Athlon 64 6000+ is a processor you won't go far wrong with. I purchased one of these in a computer build. I was amazed at the ease at how this processor performs.... The dual core aspect obviously enbables your machine to designate its ... Read the complete review

Although this processor is a little old now I still use it in my pc, and it can cope with some modernish games at medium resoultion (also depedent on having a good graphics card). I think it is a good value dual core processor, compatible in several of the motherboards I own. Dual core processors are designed to cope with Multi tasking and the 6000+ is no exception. I find that I can watch tv, surf the internet and encode video all at the same time. It was a good upgrade from my 2ghz single core processor with a noticable increase in speed for any task. It was easy to install in my motherboard and the supplied fan seems adequate to cool the processor, as it has ... Read the complete review
