I am so impressed with the AMD Athlon. Before I had a dismal 200Mhz Cyrix 6x86L and this thing leaves it trailing in the dust! With more L2 cache and 3D accelerated features it runs faster than an Intel Pentium III that 50Mhz faster.
At the rate of processor prices falling, you should definately consider investing in one if these babies, as it is also friendly with your pocket with AMD prices being about a third of their Intel counterparts. Currently 600Mhz is the minimum speed available now (which was what I had to settle for) all the way up to the superfast 850Mhz, with about £150 difference between the two.
