Disadvantages: no disadvantages, no disadvantages, no disadvantages
It’s a bomb!!! This is my first comment when I installed, on my motherboard, Amd Athlon 1300 mhz. I buy it after a personal positive experience with Amd products; I had an Amd Duron 600 mhz and I was very happy with it. I buy Athlon 1300 with a special price (130 €). I have a motherboard Qdi Kinetiz7T with 256 MB RAM. Other motherboards that support Amd processors are Asus, Abit, Gigabyte and many others; but I remember you that it most be Socket A! When you assemble your pc, you most also buy a big fan for processor; in fact it become very hot because it has a big power and a high temperature. The distinctive features are (from 05/05/200): - Model: Amd Athlon 1300 - Code: Thunderbird - Production system: 0,18 micron - Cache: 128 Kbyte L1 and 256 Kbyte L2 - Cpu Frequence (Mhz): 1.300 - Bus Frequence (Mhz): 200 - Multiplier: 13 - Nominal tension Vcore (volt): 1,75 - Max watt: 68 - Max temperature (°C): 95 For application it’s very powerful: Windows run as fast as the wind... When I go into the panel control and I click on System, the windows appear very fast. For games there are many performance increases: with benchmark (3dMark 2001) my points are 2100. Incredible!!! I think that the reason for these increases is also my memory but certainly the processor influences all system. Overclock with Amd processors is very simple. However it’s better for you to know about it that overclock is a dangerous operation for your processor. I think that this processor is very powerful when you buy it and my opinion is that overclock is an unnecessary thing. Then Amd processors have the best report quality/price. It’s not true that Amd processors have problems with any application: my experience says that they are very good with all application and games!

- 06/11/01 The 3Dmark benchmark is affected far more by your graphics card than the processor. I've got 2087 on my system, and that's an Athlon 800MHz! 2100 is an ok score, but I think with a decent new graphics card you can get over 4000. |
