The K6-2+, allthough it does have a desktop version, was made for the mobile market. It can clock to 550Mhz at the moment and has reached 600Mhz with overclocking. The differences between this and the k6-2 original is that its not made with a .18micron technology as opposed to .25 micron, put simply this means that it drwas less power and produces less heat. Perfect for the mobile market. Since Laptops are not made for games anyway, this is a great choice to bting down the cost of a laptop as appossed to using one of the highly expensive PIII versions. Lack of a powerfull FPU does not hit the mobile user as hard as it would the desktop user. ...
