paulhanton AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ / 3 GHz: ... This means that you are getting a pretty fast processor which, although launched about a year ago now, still runs all known games as far as I am aware. I say this as the main reason for this machine, as I have said is for my son to use as his games machine. AMD have a pretty comprehensive website where anyone that has a technical mind (I am not dim about this, but also not fascinated) can get info to t...

richooooo AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ / 2.2 GHz
... will also need to find a compatible motherboard for this as well but if you are building your own PC I would suspect you know which parts to use. The CPU Runs at 2.3 GHZ it is overclockable but I did not try this as the computers were not for me. The other features this beast has are 64 bit Technology, 3Dnow!, Streaming SIMD Extensions, Streaming SIMD Extensions 2, Integrated memory controller, AMD Cool n Quiet Technology. Mix this all together and you get the magic of what AMD has produced I would recommend this to anyone who needs a decent processor at a cheap price. All in all I would say that this Item has scored a 10/10 for me it was perfect I will definitely use ...

6heads AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ / 3 GHz
... used this processor for two months for very intensive programs such as video studio 11 and newer games including medal of honour airborne, i can safely say it has stood up well to the challenge. I purchased this processor to build a whole new rig for video editing as our old dell was not up to the challenge. What a difference this thing made even running vista with a terrible graphics card ( the new 8500gt i ordered didnt arrive so i had to install a 2mb pci card i had hanging around) and i was still running vista and video studio 11 with ease. It runs fine and relatively quietly with the stock fan although you may need to upgrade cooling for overclocking i havent...

Jamesth AMD Turion 64 MT-37 / 2 GHz
... Turion MT-37 is a decent processor for notebook use but even for desktop use, it draws only 25 watt(against 45 of the new generation Amd and 65 Intel) while under stress and is probably comparable to new single core processor. IT has a speed of 2 Ghz and is as good as any processor of the new generation but use the old socket 754 mainboards. I personally replaced a old athlon xp 1700 socket A processor only changing Mainboard and processor. I used the Turion for a system with ubuntu and the processor only get to 30° celsius. The benefit of having a processor like this are probably only about power consumption, as for the processor is a good processor as any, havin...
