Advantages: Cheap

Disadvantages: Can slowdown a fair bit

I bought my PC about six months ago now and I’m pretty pleased about. It’s not a mega high spec PC but then again it’s certainly not low spec.

The processor is an Intel Celeron 702MHz, although what difference two megahertz is going to make isn’t really worth mentioning.
I have found that it’s a pretty speedy little chip, especially when it comes to gaming.

Strangely enough, the things that it has the most trouble coping with are the simplest things such as Word and Excel. It really does take an age to open programs such as these, and closing them is just as bad. It works its little ass off whilst trying to close programs. This puzzles me because the computers at work have Celeron 400 processors and the opening and closing of programs really doesn’t seem to bother them at all.

Overall I would have to say that it’s a pretty good processor, me having experience with a wide variety of different computer systems. I also hear that it performs particularly well when it comes to over-clocking, although what this means really beats the hell out of me.

I would recommend this type processor to anybody looking for a nice cheap PC that packs a bit of a punch. If you’re really serious you may want to opt for something a little beefier, but if you’re a home or light to medium user who demands a high quality yet simple computer experience then this is the one for you!

As I mentioned before, this particular processor is pretty good with games so don’t be afraid to go for it if that’s what you want to use your PC for.
I have to say that, in all honesty I don’t know very much about the technology behind processors, so I won’t lie to you and make it appear that I do. All I can say is that I have this processor and I’m well pleased with it.

Yeah, I know what u mean. Intel are too eager to put processors on the market that just aren't ready at the moment.
In the end it all comes down to one thing; they want money, and they want it fast.

The celeron is a good budget chip, but for real processing power, I'd personally wait until the P4 integration is fully sorted out and the prices fall a bit - which will take about six months or so at the best guess. :-)
