The Intel Celeron processor integrates the dynamic execution performance of the P6 microarchitecture with the capabilities of Intel MMX technology to bring a balanced level of performance to Value PC desktop systems. Celeron processors are optimized for 32-bit applications running on advanced 32-bit operating systems and are binary compatible with previous generations of Intel Architecture processors. Intel's latest Celeron processors are manufactured using the advanced 0.18-micron process, which allows Intel to produce higher frequency processors with improved thermal performance. Intel Celeron processors include 128-KB full-speed, on-die L2 cache and utilize the multi-transactional P6 system bus. The combination of the L2 cache bus and the processor-to-main-memory system bus increases bandwidth and performance over single-bus processors.
