Advantages: Powerful, low power consumption

Disadvantages: Expensive, quite dated

A great dual core processor for laptops and small media pc's alike.

I used one of these when I built a tiny media PC for my sister. This processor is more than capable of handling anything she could ever need to do with her PC. With its dual cores it allows you to easily use multiple applications at once and is even capable of some low end video and audio editing. Its also ideal for a small HTPC due to its incredibly low power consumption. Just 35w at load. This also allows you to build a powerful, yet small and low power consuming PC. With a media PC its going to be on a lot therefore low power consumption is an absolute necessity. I recently upgraded her PC to Windows 7 and it now appears to operate even faster and as of yet my sister has had problems playing any games or watching/listening to any media.

Although this is a fantastic prcocessor there are a few drawbacks. The cost being the main one. This processor isnt cheap. Using AMD you could easily build a media PC with higher performance at lower cost. This is most likely due to the fact this processor is now quite old.

Whilst I would recommend this to anyone building a PC now, its hard to fault this processor as it has proved to be both powerful, low power consuming and reliable.

Summary: A great processor for its time but now a little dated and definitely not the best value for money
