Advantages: Good speed, good multi tasking performance

Disadvantages: Loud fan supplied

This processor was probably near the last of the medium-high end home processors to be made before the introduction of multiple cored processors. I have been using this particular item in a computer for the last 3 years without any performance problems what so ever.

There is however one annoying problem - the processor cooling fan that is supplied in the retail boxed package is far too loud. Yes it shifts a decent amount of air and does an all right job of cooling. It is annoying to have a constant whine whilst using your computer. If you were to buy this, I'd recommend changing to an aftermarket cooling unit.

Performance wise there is very little to complain about. The processor handles multi tasking such as browsing the web whilst burning DVDs for example, easily. I have never once managed to overload the processor through demanding tasks. This may not be good enough to run a massively powerful multimedia machine from but for the average home user into a bit of multimedia it is ideal.

Summary: A good processor, a bit outdated now but still up to the challenge of modern programs
