So about a year ago l decided to start a home study GCSE maths course. I had high expectations because l have studied with the Open University before and found the learning experience pretty faultless. Choosing ICS Around a year ago l signed up for a GCSE Maths course with ICS. I Chose ICS because they appeared to have the most cost affective courses available. Apparently they are the worlds largest and most experienced home study school, it tells me this in my learning pack....

... it or not these jobs are some of the top ones in demand because of too much teachers taking time off. A lot of recruitment agencies will offer you temp work at schools because of the lack of staff as most of them take a lot of days off. I had the chance to work as a supply teacher just sitting with kids and helping them out with in the subject of History and Maths. Being a supply teacher I tell you what the pay is stunning but if you can not do the job then do not do it. I must admit I could not do the job and I did not have the experience either. ... have mixed feelings about this - i spent 3 years teaching in main stream education and to be honest did enjoy my time. I enjoyed the day to day interaction with my tutor group and watching pupils develop and learn plus loved the staff i worked with. The problem for me however was the repetition of what you do on a day to day basis. Due to pressures of targets and grades you are unable to spend as much time on topics as needed and there is a real taregt driven ethos in schools these days. Another issue is long hours at school plus the extra marking/extra curricular activities you do for the "love of the job". People always say "yeah but you get long holi...
