Having just completed my first year without having taken a GAP year, this is a decision which I have regretted.
I am a first year medical student at Imperial College and many of my friends have done amazing things with their year out.
Despite my course being an exceptionally long one, I feel that after the hard work and pressure of A-Levels, it is worth considering doing something different for a while and relaxing.
My decision not to take a GAP year was based purely on financial grounds, although this can be overcome by possibly working for half a year to then pay for travel
