Gap years have to be the best idea after school! Leaving school gives you the freedom to do what you want and going abroad is the best thing to do. I went to Thailand and Australia and found that i had never had it so good. Both places are excellent, particularly Thailand with its different culture and food. Australia is great for surfing and jobs are easy to find. I was lucky to have friends out there but you don't need to know people, its fun on your own anyway. The weather in that area is superb and the people are great. Just don't go smuggling anything into Thailand or you're dead!
