I have been working in mudlogging now for ten years, and in fact I am sitting on a rig in the North Sea, UK, as I write this. Most job descriptions of mudloggers concentrate on the collection and anaylisis of drilled rock cuttings, although correct, this is in fact a very small percentage of the job as a whole, mudlogging involves setting up a series of sensors around the oil rig in order to collect data relating to drilling parameters, this data is collected in a database on a computer but it is the monitoring and analysis of this data that is crucial, this can provide forewarnings of problems with the wellbore, it is also highly useful in fault finding rig equipment ..  Read the complete review
