The ECDL is an interntionally recognised qualification that shows good compter skills. It is a well known one and is taken seriously, unlike some of the IT courses available through the internet. Also, this is a course that could be used for home as well as as work skills. If you are under 19 you can do the ECDL course for free through an adult education centre and if recieving certin benefits you get a reduced price.The whole thing costs around £250 and the reduced price is around £60(At my local adult education centre) The course itself can be taken up to level two. Each level contains individual modules to work through and pass (At 75% pass rate) before moving on to the next. The modules cover the different aspects of working on a computer from the basic concepts to more advanced presentations. Level one is a very basic approach and level two seems to get harder quite quick. The things you learn are useful everyday things andeven if you can lready use computers, this qualification would be able to show potential employers, where you are at. I would reccomend this to course to anyone, as computer skills get more and more important this will help you keep up. It is apretty easy course if you know the basics but still teachs you loads of stuff you never thught a computer could do.
