Advantages: Everything looks better on a big screen, Epson are a well known brand, Prices ARE falling

Disadvantages: Bulb Prices, Bulb not inluded in warranty

The Epson Emp 52 Projector.The first Projector i bought was the emp 50.After 1 year i had the opertunity to upgrade and found the difference was just slightly noticable.The 1200 ANSI Lumens brightness does make a difference,however there is slightly more noise from the unit.It uses TFT Active Matrix Technoligy which gives you a brighter and sharper picture at longer distances than the EMP 50.It is very portable and only weighs around 6lbs only 4oz heavier than my 2 week old baby boy when he was born.It comes with a 3year return to manufactures warranty but this doesnot include the BULB which many people think it does.The problem there is that lets face it the main thing in a Projector that is likely to go is the bulb and the reason they dont warranty the bulb is that they know it will go and they cost around £250-£350 each to replace.Having said all this the bulb has a life of around 2000 hrs.People always ask so how long will my bulb last.......how longs a piece of string....it all depends on how much you use your projector...
A Projector is a great item to purchase as long as you remember it is not a TV to get the best from your projector you use it for special events like when your mates ar round to watch the footie or you want to watch a film epic just like you did when you went to the pictures as it always looks beter on the BIG SCREEN.or even gaming with your mates as you can connect a PS2 or XBOX.Dont just sit watching Corrie or Eastender on your projector every night or within a couple of months youll have to buy a new bulb as it will burn out.
In conclusion buy it for special occasions not for everyday use as i have had great fun watching film and football and still have about 1000 hrs bulb life left after having this a year.
