I bought this with an interest in the new technology of miniature-ising of absolutely everything. And this really is mini- about the size of your hand, so what could this 'projector' possibly do withing such a small space? The Good: It projects up to 1.5 metres diagonally from 2.6 metres away, a fairly good size (to say it come out of a microscopic device). It can also play from almost any device; you name it- it's compatible- iPod, phones, PDAs, camcorders, etc. This really liberates your picture and video files from the small screen right onto your wall. Instead of having friends crowd around a tiny screen, simply whip out the Optoma and put it on any wall! The Bad: This is a brilliant idea, but there are practicalities. The biggest is that the projector is not powerful enough to work anywhere but dim light. Also, the rechargeable battery does not last long enough- only up to 2 hours- not good enough to even watch a film on. Overall, this is such a great way of transforming your devices into media systems (and probably the cheapest) but the quality is not up to scratch.
