When expanding or compressing images that have anything other than XGA resolution, the PT-L557E use digital signal processing to deliver smooth outlines and superior on-screen definition. The PT-L557E uses a newly developed Panasonic original algorithm to perform detailed calculations using multiple sets of pixel data to compress XGA images to SVGA, with high picture quality. For expansion the PT-L557E uses Bilinear Compensation to improve digital outline smoothing, helping to achieve highly natural images from VGA or video sources.
