The PLC-SU50 features Sanyo's proprietary light engine with a 200-watt UHP lamp and generates 2000 ANSI lumens. It offers a contrast ratio of 350:1 and provides an SVGA resolution of 800 x 600. A fan control system, which monitors room temperature and adjusts fan speed, guarantees presentations will be heard by reducing background noise.

This projector can be equipped with an optional Multi Card Imager Box which accepts optional interchangeable wired and wireless LAN cards for network image transfer and projector control and administration. With the optional Compact Flash Card kit, PowerPoint files can be converted to JPEG format, stored on a Compact Flash card, and shown directly from the projector.

Furthermore, the PLC-SU50 offers interlaced/progressive conversion which allows input sources to be converted into progressive signals for improved playback. Also, Sanyo's X-Y digital keystone correction compensates for angled projector placement both vertically and horizontally.
