Sanyo PLC SU50S ... lens capable of producing a 100" diagonal image from a distance of 10.9' to 13.2'.

The PLC-SU50S features a DVI-I input and a switchable D-Sub 15 input / monitor output for use as a second PC input or for connection to an external monitor. With USB connectivity, and a variable audio output, this unit is perfect for classroom environments.

An optional Multi Card Imager Box with a wired LAN module also accepts optional interchangeable wireless LAN cards for network image transfer and projector control/administration. With the optional Compact Flash Card kit, PowerPoint files can be converted to JPEG format, stored on a Compact Flash card and shown directly from the projector.

Incoming interlaced video source signals are automatically converted into progressive signals for improved video image reproduction.

Logo files can be captured for display during the projector's countdown sequence at startup.

With the touch of a button, Sanyo's X-Y digital keystone correction compensates for angled projector placement by mathematically interpolating an image's pixels, correcting trapezoidal images in both the vertical and horizontal planes.

The PLC-SU50S is High Definition Television compatible accepting the 480i, 480p, 575i, 575p, 720p, 1035i and 1080i HDTV resolution standards.

With an optional adapter cable, component video sources can be fed directly into the D-Sub 15 VGA input.

Keystone correction is the name given to the function of the projector that allows you to adjust the image to bring back the rectangle. The whole 'keystone' thing is important in this opinion because this projector had one of the most adjustable keystone corrections of any projector I have used. Rating:

No hanging around with a flowery introduction - let's get straight to the point. Great functionality - easy to set-up - superb brightness. Expensive - poor sound. In a nutshell those are the positive and negative points of this projector. For my overall opinion, read through to the end. First of all allow me to explain the title for those that are not aware of keystone correction. 'Keystone' has to be the most bizarre term doing the rounds in technology today and if anybody can use their language skills and explain a little etymology of the word I would appreciate it as I have no idea where it comes from.
