I bought this projector for home cinema projection from my laptop - and am delighted. The picture quality is far better than I anticipated - with the projector 3.5m from my white wall I get a crisp, HD-worthy screen of approx. 2.5m x 1.5m. The only drawback is that the cooling fan makes quite a lot of noise - but I use even louder external speakers to compensate! Apart from that, it's worth noting that the English in the user manual is entertaining rather than helpful, but the setup is rather simple, so that's not really an issue. (If the projector doesn't immediately discover your input device, hit the 'input method' button (under the power button) and select whether you want to project from a TV/laptop/USB/etc.).The image quality is better than I was expecting and it's easy to use (now that I've managed to connect it to my amp and speakers in order to channel the sound through them). I bought this for watching movies occasionally and the odd live sporting event. Perhaps I had low expectations after doing some research on various types of projectors and reading various reviews of this one (clearly from people who are more experienced projector users than me), but I think it's well worth the money. I guess it depends what you want to use it for, for eample i won't ever use it for gaming so I've no idea how it would handle it but for watching films and sports and perhaps even some everyday tv programmes, it hits the mark for me.
The fan is slightly louder than i expected after reading that it is a particularly quiet model...it's not enough to distract though.
