JB87 Pubs / Bars in Blackpool: ... where do I start? Blackpool...what an amazing night out!...whether you like dancing away until the early hours, or even just a quiet drink...you ll be happily pleased. I first experienced Blackpool in February 2009, where we spent the weekend celebrating a friends 21st! As it was out of season, our hotel was only £15 per person/per night...so we thought it was going to be the pits! But...we were all very plea...

TheWeaver Dukes 92 (Manchester)
... is located in the Castlefield Basin area, alongside Albert s Shed and Bar ca. The area itself is very scenic, with all the bars circling the canal, old fashioned cobbled streets leading between each of them and even a little waterfall gushing from one of the locks. Dukes apparently used to be a stable, and still maintains some of that heritage in its decor with a slight modern tinge. But it definitely tries to give the impression everything is antique. It s a big place. Especially popular in summer with the outdoor seating on the patio next to the canal, complete with two big barbecues offering homemade burgers. Aside from the summer barbecue Dukes offers a choice...

Dinah93 Kings Arms (Great Stainton)
... Kings Arms is located in Great Stainton, around 8 miles outside of Darlington. This is a pub in the traditional sense, walking inside is like stepping back in time. The interior is quite dark, with lots of wood, long padded benches, and a red carpet with a pattern not produced since 1978. You can book in advance, but as its quite a large pub there are usually spaces. All the menu is on the chalkboards on the walls, but there is a lot of it, so you have to do a proper tour around to have a full read. The menu is vast and varied, but mostly traditional pub food. While the menu is nothing staggering, it is all cooked well, is flavoursome and the portions are a good s...

Dinah93 Hamilton Russell (Thorpe Thewles)
... Hamilton Russell is located in Thorpe Thewles, jsut outside Stockton-on-Tees. It is a fairly large village pub, mostly focussing on meals, although there are rooms where drinkers can take their pint. The pub is huge, and there is large snooker room, as well as seating inside for around 100 people to eat. However it doesn t appear cavernous, as all the tables are in little interconnected rooms, which maintains the cosy atmosphere. Outside there are several tables under huge parasols, for eating on a sunny day or for smokers who want to enjoy a meal. The pub is done out in a cross between old farming style with lots of impliments and gas lamps on the wall, with a...
