Advantages: Friendly, Country pub
Disadvantages: none
If you want to visit a real country pub that is quite small but with a great atmosphere you should definately try this pub.
You will find it in Kempsford High Street, Gloucestershire.
They are a free house with a good selection of beer. Prices are good.
Although small they do have a pool table.
On a Saturday night it can get packed out.
They do have karioke nights and this is well worth a visit. When we had some friends over from the States we took them here and they said that it was the best evenings entertainment they had had with this kind of music!
Everyone gets up and gives it a go but you are not forced to. There are enough willing singers! It is a pleasant fun, lively time there and it doesnt get out of hand.
The locals are friendly and make you feel comfortable and welcome. Its their pub yes but it is not a pub where when you walk in all the locals shut up talking and gawk at you.
There is good parking. The bar staff are friendly and you get served quickly.
One other thing did you know that Kempsford is one of the most haunted villages around this part of the country? You should get a local to tell you about it and no it is not all miff they are there. In fact a ghost was seen in the pub only last week!
