The village of Barford St Martin is about five miles from Salisbury. To get to this pretty village you pass through the village of Wilton which goes out along the Shaftesbury Road to this pretty village. There are still many thatched cottages remaining and a school. There is also the Countryside Unit which is in Dairy Lane upon what used to be a farm. This is where homeless people from Demascus House can learn new skills like furniture resoration, computing, and arts and crafts. There has been a lot of work done at the Countryside Unit, and more needs to be done. Barford is one of the last remaining villages showong a way of life before Henri Ford and his invention. Barford has one garage, but you cannot get key metres done here, althrough there is a newsagents department. The Barford Inn is a nice place to stay as well. I belive there is a bus service to and from the village of Wilton.
