Advantages: Clean, good food, good beer !
Disadvantages: None
A 'Good Grub Pub', check out the chilli (opt for the chilli and chips as oppose to rice) not too hot or mild just right! Mmmmmmmmm! Or, the cheese and onion pie (served in an individual pie dish with chips)lovely. This is probably one of the best pubs in Stafford, not a fun pub or too dingy, but just an old tastefully decorated one with nooks and crannies everywhere. As you enter, on your left is a small lounge like room where food is usually served during the day, on the right 'The Bar' or what was formally called 'Tap Room'(where all the 'old guys' go to watch horse racing etc)(don't be put off). Go through to the back and straight ahead you've a pool table in one room and the larger of the back rooms on the right leads to the beergarden (brilliant for the kids in summer). To get to the 'Bird In The Hand', walk up the alleyway by the side of McDonalds which is on the main street (Stafford is quite a small and quaint town, you can't miss McD's) I think the alleyway is called Fancy Walk (ooh!nice!) and it is at the top directly on your left, opposite the Court. If you're ever in Stafford give it and their bar meals a try, I'm sure you wont regret it. I wish I still lived in Stafford, surprising what you miss when you haven't got it!(could just eat their chilli and chips). Oh well...........
