Black Bull Inn
 Black Bull Inn ... ago, about the time of the Spanish armada, as a coaching Inn providing accomodation for both travellers, coachmen and hourses. The Inn is situated in the pictureque village of Coniston, beside the beck and in the shadow of the 'Old Man' mountain. The Big Toe of the Old Man is a large piece of stone set in the wall of the Black Bull resisdents lounge.Newest Review: ... the staff always to be friendly even when they are rushed off their feet at peek times. The Black Bull is also the home of the Coniston Brewery and you can find the famous Bluebird bitter on sale alongside Old Man Ale (named after the mountain). They serve food all day and ok its not cheap but you certainly get what you pay for. I am happy to say I have never had any problems with the food ... more ... or the service. Well now for a little problem...at peek times throughout the year it does get very busy and sometimes it can be hard to find a table. They do have a number of tables outside so if it's warm enough you could eat there.

The Black Bull Inn is situated in the centre the Cumbrian village of Coniston and was built over 400 years ago. Its nice to find village pubs that even though get plenty of visitors throughout the year has kept its charm. I have always found the staff always to be friendly even when they are rushed off their feet at peek times. The Black Bull is also the home of the Coniston Brewery and you can find the famous Bluebird bitter on sale alongside Old Man Ale (named after the mountain).
