After attending the Holiday show at the GMEX arena I was thirsty. Spending three hours in the company of such huge celebrities as Penny Junor and Judith Chalmers wasn't as fun as I'd imagined. Anyway as I trudged around the sodden streets of Manchester my spirits sank. My companion Clive who works as a runner at Granada TV tried to cheer me up but my hat was well and truly saturated. We turned the corner into Piccadilly and we hurried into what looked like a pleasant pub.
