Newest Review: ... truly saturated. We turned the corner into Piccadilly and we hurried into what looked like a pleasant pub. The Brunswick tavern is a hidden gem, we arrived at 5pm on the sunday evening and Andrew Weatherall was already 3 hours into a what turned out to be a legendary 8 hour set. He dropped everything from rare UB40 dubplates to common as muck Diana Ross cuts. This of course was all blended in to his trademark industrial hard-school techno. Drinks....Clive and I enjoyed a pint of Strangeways Mild, it was a bit heavy for the occasion so we swapped to vodka, lime and lemonade. They were reasonably priced. After attending the Holiday show at the GMEX arena I was thirsty. Spending three hours in the company of such huge celebrities as Penny Junor and Judith Chalmers wasn't as fun as I'd imagined. Anyway as I trudged around the sodden streets of Manchester my spirits sank. My companion Clive who works as a runner at Granada TV tried to cheer me up but my hat was well and truly saturated. We turned the corner into Piccadilly and we hurried into what looked like a pleasant pub.
