Marvellous, traditional, non-smoking [hurrah!], non-mobile phone [!!!] real ale haven in Gwydir Street off Mill Road in Cambridge. This is quite a large pub with an outside seating area, which has always had a good reputation for fine beers. It's recently changed hands [July 2000 I think], being taken over be the last owner of the Free Press. He's imported the same regime [see above], and is now able to offer a wonderful range of well-kept ales. There's also decent wine by the glass. My wife and I went for the first time since the change-over last week and he had beers from the 2 local Cambridge microbreweries [City and Milton breweries], Adnams Broadside, an Everards, Woodford Wherry and a couple of others, together with 'Cambridge Blue' which is brewed specially for the pub. Food is available. There's several separate 'rooms' within the pub, one of which is tiny and has a collection of papers and recent magazines. This pub is popular with students. Parking is difficult on the narrow local streets.
