      Very helpful

Such a nice pub seems wasted on the City, but that's all the more reason to make the most of it if you find yourself there. Close to the Barbican Centre and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, this friendly and pleasant pub attracts Saturday night crowds completely out of synch with its location. Not a coincidence... The layout of a pub is critical, and at the King's Arms it is successful. The bar runs nearly the whole length of the pub, which is not very deep but very long. To the sides there are more spacious areas with tables and chairs. I can't remember the price of a pint, much as I know you want to know, but I think the pricing is pretty standard. It's certainly not overpriced à la West End. As far as the crowd goes, you get a lot of students (many from Guildhall, so a lot of musicians as well). Then again, it also gets its fair share of older clientele - businessmen, executives and so on. If you ever fancy a pint after a concert at the Barbican, or after any other commitment that finds you in the City, I highly recommend it. Unfortunately, most people don't very often have a reason to be within distance of it, so it remains an occasional pleasure.
